Failzero BCG and a Daniel Defense barrel.... should they be G2G or should I have it checked when I assemble the upper?

headspace should not be an issue.... you can always get guages but I would believe it to be a non-issue...   I am sure that someone with more knowledge than me will chime in soon

I have the same setup.  It was G2G in my case.  I would venture that you are fine as well.

Again if they are both new then its not a issue but if any are used then I would check the headspace.....

Unless the bolt or barrel have had 10k+ rounds through them, headspace should be fine.

I got the gauges awhile back and I have checked probably 10 new bolt/barrel combos (various makes and models) since then ... I have had one new bolt that would not close on the "go" gauge and one new bolt that did close a the "no go" gauge on brand new barrels. I reamed the chamber on the barrel that the gauge would not close on the "go" gauge and sent the other barrel back to the manufacturer for a replacement.YMMV

It used to be that everyone suggested "if the barrel and bolt are new, they're guaranteed good to go."  That's not always the case.  I'm certain that the DD barrel is within spec.  I don't know enough about FailZero to say the same thing about their bolt.  Find a smith (or a friend) that has the right gauges and get the final assembly checked-insurance like this is always a good idea.
