This will be my first AR. Will be using it for target, home defense and coyotes (200yds max). After probably too much reading I've narrowed it down to these three.....DD-XV, BCM middy, or M&P 15 MOE. Any help narrowing it down to "the" one would be appreciated ! Thanks !

Any of the 3 would be a fine choice IMO . Some would say the BCM Mid length would out last the others but to tell you the truth the days of shooting out a barrel is over at least for me with the price of ammo being what it is.The midlengths do look very nice though so that would be my first choice followed by the DD then you have the S&W wich seems to be priced to sell these days so if you are on a budget it may be the way to go.

All three are great choices. I would personally go with the DD or BCM since they have a lifetime warranty. The S&W is a good gun but it annoys me that they only back it up with a one year.

The S&W does have a lifetime warranty. They changed it sometime this past year.

i own, and shoot all 3,,, i like them equeally,,,all are really good. strictly a personal opinion,,, i think the s&w is a better rifle than most folks give it credit for. of course the flavor of the month is BCM,,, and they do earn their reputation.

all quality stuff...If you are buying a new 16" AR you should buy a midlength, in my opinion... There is no functional reason to pick a 16" carbine over a 16" midlength...the only reasons I could think of are if you want to cut it to 14.7/14.5" to make an M4 clone (which is pure aesthetics/vanity) or for a slightly wider handguard selection.

Agreed. I would've gone with a BCM middy if I didn't get in on the smoking DD M4 deal @ Bravo

That's neutered though, he'll need to spend some $$ to un-neuter it.

Thanks for the input guys ! The free mags with the S&W and already having a M&P9c had me leaning that way and a good price at Peach State Guns along with good things I've read about DD had me leaning that way. But everything about the BCM I've read keeps coming to the top of my list and having some knowledgeable opinions has been really helpful !
