hey i am thinking about re barreling my 16 "recce". right now it just has a er shaw heavy barrel. i would like to get a stainless 1/7 or 1/8 twist barrel. i like all of the noveske and white oak barrels the problem is i need a carbine gas system. i have a pri front sight and a 9.5 in sampson rail that has a cutout for the sight that is on the rifle now. i want to use the sight and rail on the new barrel so i need a carbine gas system. does any one know where i can find a 16in carbine lin barrel comparable to the noveske barrels. i dont really want anythng shorter because i dont want to per att a flash hider because i use a suppressor on this gun. thanks

Hmmm.  16", carbine gas and "above average" accuracy.  That might be tough since so many have started using mid length.

I'd start by talking to adco and MSTN to see of they might be able to hook you up.

You also may want to consider a stainless ultramatch barrel from Olympic.  Oly doesn't have the best reputation for other stuff but their SUM barrels are very accurate.

Check with Denny's Guns (GTS).  You could also ck with CMMG, they have some good Stainless bbls.

I forgot CMMG does have 16" barrels with carbine gas systems.

Still not exactly the "premium" barrels he was asking about, though they are probably good enough.

Your right about them not being the "premium" bbls, but I really don't think many of us could shoot as good as most bbls are capable of performing.  I would think that the CMMG bbls are plenty good enough for us.  Some of us just want to spend the money for what is considered "top of the line", and that's ok.  I've been known to do it myself.
