I am looking for some glass for a new spr build. would like to use it out to 600yds, but mostly will be in the 250-350 yards. Budget is around 1200-1500. would like mil-dot or something similar. What do you recomend?

Personally I'm looking at the Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50 for my MEGA MA-TEN, but it's not cheap.
If this optic will be going on a 5.56 then that might be too much scope for some people. With your budget you will have a hell of a nice optic. I currently have a 3-9x40 on a Bushmaster Varminter 5.56 and I want more magnification. It just depends on what type of shooting you want to do. More magnification is for longer ranges and/or more precision at the range you're shooting at. Check out the Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50. The Trijicon Accupoint 5-20x50 would be very nice. There are a LOT of different magnification ranges that fit within your budget |

Id buy the leupold vx-6 1-6x 24mm illuminated since i don't need 14x out to 300 yards, and plus the 1-6 is more versatile from 10 to even 600 yards shooting at steel gongs , if i had your money to spend and then use the rest on ammo..
here is how the reticle looks http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/421244_The_variable__low_power_multipurpose_scope_review_thread.html&page=21 |

While the Bushnell is a good scope, the reviews I have seen on Sniper Central and Sniper's Hide are mixed and basically state the scope is a little expensive for what you get. I have a SWFA SS 3-9 that is a FFP and well within your budget. I have used it on my AR but it currently resides on my 308.
SWFA SS 3-9 If you want more magnification, they also have a a 5-20 that is said to be really good and still within your budget: SWFA SS 5-20 They also have a promo going for Tax Day, if they get a certain amount of likes on facebook they will have significant price reductions on their Super Sniper Scopes, see this link: Tax Day Sale |
