I am looking to put a piece of glass on my 6.5 grendel that will allow me to engage targets at 800+ yds.  I want to try a mildot although I am not proficient at all with that reticle.  Was thinking Night force, Leupold, or Nikon.  Piggy bank is a little tight so nothing more than a decent nightforce, say $1500 or so.  Less expensive would be better, but not looking for cheap.  Is there a mil dot with FFP or are most SFP?  All the websites I have been to it looks like they are all adjusted in MOA, I would like the .1 mil adjustment with the zero adjustable target turrets (I think).  Am I asking too much for too little?  This will be by far the most $$ piece of optic equiptment in my safe.  Thanks for any help.

ETA: it will be an Alexander arms 19.5" upper on a Rock river lower.

Snipers hide is probably your best bet for long range advice.  That said I have Zeis 4.5-14 mildot Conquest for the same thing and it is the schnizzle.  However on my M14NM I mounted a Leupold 4.5-14 LR/T mildot and nail everything to 800 meters.  But the surprise is the Sightron 4-16 mildot on my Savage Tactical that hits steel consistantly at 1K.
Sightron, $500.
Zeis Conquest from euroopitcs, $700.
Leupold from Mike at CS Gunworks, $900.
