| I made a big behive brake for my varmint rifle a few years ago. it was fun. makes bench shooting super nice... of course the guys next to me hate it and its been known to kill cheap scopes. lol. I might build a brake/flash suppressor for my next ar. yours looks really well done |

nice.
but you should think about filling in the front and drilling out a matching exit hole.. it will give you expansion chamber and direct more gas to the ports like a 1911 comp.. i have a friend who makes 50cal rifles from scratch(class II) and he made me one way back. i will post a photo when i get home. |

i pretty much reverse engineered it from the example shown in the first photo. it's 7/8" od means that the wrench flats are still 3/4" so there is no void where it hits the 3/4 " barrel.
internal dimensions of the initial chamber are determined by the pilot drill size for 1/2" 28 thread. front opening is similar to original. i have not measured a regular suppressor to see how different it is. |

Wish I had that kind of skill. skill part is easy, its being able to pay for the tooling and machines to put the skill to use is whats tuff nah, actually the skill part is tougher. any dumb schmuck can fill out a credit application or get a second job. saving is easy if you're determined enough. it doesn't take a brand new 1/4 million dollar machining center to do allot of gun work. buy a used mill and lathe and you can do allot. the skill to use them compotently can't be bought. |

thanks, 4130, six slots around, i used a 30 degree end mill for the slots... I like that "ramped edge" it leaves on the slot ends...gives me an idea to clean-up my own homemade muzzle device. Number of flutes and diameter/width of flutes/cut? Do you run the end mill at full depth or "hover it" dropping it down with each pass until the slots are at desired width? |
