I am not to keen on red dot sights and I was looking throught the EE and noticed that some of the adds said that the red dot was fadeing. My question is is how long do they last are they in a way like night sights , after a while they go dead? I bought the complete stag upper that AIMs is selling for $475 with the ARMS #40 BUIS. I was wondering what would be the best mount for a aimpoint Comp ml3 to go with this set up. I would like a lower 1/3 co-witness. TIA. |
if someones red dot was fading then he must have needed a new battery and they are nothing like night sights were after 10 years they run out of power. Aimpoints of course can have problem just like any other electronical device but they are few and far between and Aimnpoint has a 10 year warrinty on all their products. for a mount if you want to stick with ARMS use the #22 ring with either a high spacer or cantilever spacer. The best mount would be from LaRue, get either their 30mm straight mount or cantilever mount (I don't knoe the product numbers for LaRue) |

My old two Aimpoint from the 90s which I used in .45 and .38 target pistols are still working. I now have a model M2 with KAC straight high mount which have a lower 1/3 co-witness with my Troy BUIS. The best Aimpoint mount are both LaRue, the standard straight (model LT-150) and the cantilever (LT-129) models. The cantilever model is better if you will be using Aimpoint 3X magnifiers, NV optics or if you prefer it mounted way forward. I have a LaRue EOTech mount and I love it, very high quality and I like it so much that I'll be replacing my current KAC mount with the LaRue LT-150 straight model. |
