Didn't (or doesn't) someone make a similar device that replaces the whole spring and buffer assembly with a hydraulic damper?  Similar to whats in that PDF but longer.

Colt makes a hydraulic buffer, J&T had them.

Yes - I saw them at the SHOTSHOW. Their expertise is springs, etc. and they took the next step - years ago into RECOIL absorbtion. Their .50BMG recoil buffers have been used by some Navy and Coast Guard for years IIRC.

The AR15 stuff, which I had my hands on their only prototypes - NIW, was on display. No delivery time was indicated by their very nice and knowledgeable engineer.
