read a thread about it a long time ago but can't find it anymore. If someone could halp me out with a link or instructions it would be greatly appreciated.

Basically you loosen the allen head in the A2 site and then adjust it so it will bottom out 2 clicks below the normal base 300 yard setting(4 clicks with a removeable carry handle).  Then with the site at the bottom setting zero it at 50 meters.  Now you will have a 50/200 meter zero, and the elevation marks on the A2 site will still be true.

I'll try to post an active link.

You will notice that the sight is then set at 50 YARDS.  Watch-Six

thanks guys!
either of you use the improved sights?

Yeah I have my Bushy setup that way.  I don't punch a lot of paper with it, but the elevation variation is small enough that I can keep on a pop can from 0-100 yards without having to play with my site.

Yep. Works like a charm.

The 50yd zero for iron sights is the best thing since sliced bread.

Works great. And it was developed by a guy with a lot of trigger time behind an M-16. Not some analyst somewhere.

Now all you have to do is add a same plane aperture sight. It makes a lot of intelligent sense to zero at 50 yards with the small aperture and then shoot 5" low when switching to the large aperture. Of course if you never plan on using the large aperture, disregard.

Of course if you bother to read the instructions, Chuck mentions you have to set the dial to '3' to use the large aperture.

Confusing the problem is there seem to be differences in A2 sight apertures (3 different height differences between the apertures).
If you look in the Sights/Optics FAQ at the above mentioned sight you will find an article on this phenomena

Or you can learn it the hard way, like I did. The value of the same plane sight is that you don't have to dick around cranking up the elevation, especially in a rapid response situation.

I'm glad this came up.  I'm fixin' to order a same-plane aperture from Ashley Express.

Thanks!
