should I wait before hitting up the next door neighbor for an autograph? He is the county Sheriff... woot.( yes we have dogs, don't start) |
If you live inside city limits Chief of Police, outside of city limits would be the Sheriff, they call their patrolmen deputies versus most city pd's say officer. Whatever type agency has jurisdiction over your address is the way I understand it. |
I think that you are confusing the Sheriff's Deputies with the Sheriff. There is only one Sheriff per county. If you live inside city limits, you can use the Chief of Police or the Sheriff. If you live outside of city limits, then it will be the Sheriff. There are others qualified to sign (certain judges, Attorney General, etc.), but generally it is either the Sheriff or Chief of Police. EDIT: It looks like ManiacRat461 beat me to it. |
That would be nice, get in good with him. Hell, I would for sure. Luckily our Sheriff is pretty cool doesn't mind signing off for you, I haven't done it yet but, I work with several Officers who have. Our own chief wouldn't sign for one of our Sgt.'s to get a silencer, however the sheriff did. He is a great guy though and very pro-gun. Hopefully your's is the same. |
