I think I read some where that I can use a plain old hardware store lock washer for an A1 flash hider. is this true or do I have to use a crush washer? do you use blue locktite aswell? can I use an SS one?

Well I just used the crush washer. I torque it on @ 20 foot pound and that felt light so I went up to 30. I am a little confused on how I was supposed to do this. I have read stuff about pre-crushing the washer. I put the BBL in leather padded vice block and just torque her on.

the crush washer is so that it will properly index.  Since the A1 is the same all the way around you could do it with a regular washer but it will look best with a crush or peel washer(so that the flat parts for the wrench will be "indexed" corectly)
