currently have a RRA M4 flattop - it's fine. everything runs fine, it's more accurate than my eyesight. it seems to be less happy with the larger bullets - and i want to hunt with it. i am looking for some info and recommendations to go to a 1 in 7 barreled upper. First - i went through the RRA website. do i care whether it has a wylde chamber ? i know i want to be sure it shoots 5.56 period - but a lot of the more hunting loads are .223 and i know those work in my 5.56. barrel length - i am not shooting to kill 600m, but i might want to cut some paper that far. 20" ok ?

i don't want to pay a lot for that muffler - most of the RRA complete uppers are priced within my budget sort of - upgrading to a 1:8 barrel stainless for example is ok.

i'd rather have a complete upper and just swap it, maybe later getting a complete lower to have 2 rifles. no i don;t have BRD. i don't. really. but ... i like the size and accuracy. it's enough for me. thanks in advance.

Look at the price and the specs on the barrel.

It's a good deal, even after you buy the missing components.

There are a bunch of good affordable options found in the link below (especially the Sabre and Daniel Defense options):

well if I was going to buy a complete upper for the sole purpose of hunting I would personally get a 6.8.  You didn't specify what you were hunting but the 6.8 does give heavier bullets and will put way more hurt on larger game than a 5.56 will.  Thats just my opinion.  Good luck on whatever you do.

Call PKFirearms, they have a Bushmaster 20" upper in 1/7 complete from something like $525.  That's a good option.  Or wait till AIMSurplus gets more CMMG complete 20" uppers for $550 shipped.
