Ok last year in the tough times I found a complete DPMS lower with parts kit and stock.
I then ended up with an LMT upper, BCM BCG, and a MOD 4 CH.
Now that it is complete I want a "better" lower for some reason.
I think it is all in my head as my weapon performs just fine.
I was looking at the LMT Defender complete lower for $330, just so I can have a complete LMT rifle.
If I do this I will then have the DPMS lower for a second build I can give my son once an upper is added.

IS this something the hive would do?

If your DPMS lower works, leave it alone.

If you really want your rifle to be all LMT, fine.

Use the DPMS for another build.

I, personally, wouldn't really care, as long as the lower did what I expected it to do.

This is kind of my feeling.
If the extra money presents itself when an LMT lower is available,
then I will grab it.  Until then it will stay as it is.

Explain what's wrong with the DPMS lower.

Notice I put lower in "  ",
meaning I know it is good,
but was wondering if a LMT,Noveske, Bravo would make me happier....

If you want to just be happier, get a nice billet lower. Otherwise shoot whacha got!

+1
I was in the same predicament(actually still am) I have a LMT upper bought a LMT Lower to match even though I had another lower. turned out the other lower wouldn't work with my SSA trigger for my MK 12 build so I had to use the LMT lower for that and put the original lower on. Now I want another LMT Lower.

I agree with all of that except to add that I will admit that I'm a little OCD and because of that, I prefer my uppers and lowers to "match" when possible. From a practical POV it matters not but this is a hobby for most of us so if it makes you happy then why not?

I say go for it get the LMT lower swap the lowers test it and if it runs then start another project with the DPMS lower.  Then you and your son will have two AR's you cannot have enough.

FYI so far I have done 3 matching lower/uppers and 4 mismatches I like the matching ones better.  I guess because of the warm fuzzy feeling I get knowing it matches but the others shoot just as good.  My next two are not going to match because I got two Spikes lowers and they are not getting Spikes uppers.

thanks for all the support guys.
As I get older my ADD, ADHD, OCD all start to act up.

Probably not as OCD as it seems. I mated a DPMS upper and lower and a CMMG upper to a CMMG lower. Nothing great there but if you ever sell it buyers like to think they're getting a factory rifle.

Besides a LMT upper just looks better on an LMT lower.
