looking for a forged lower. anyone know where i can get one ? everyone seems to be back ordered please help asap |

Why not a cast lowed from DPMS? they have cast and forged available and I have heard the cast is heat treated or something to about the same duability. I believe the quality of the machine work is more important than cast or forged. The same people who try to tell you it makes a difference will also tell you that the plastic Calvery arms lower is a great high quality unit that works and is very durable, and it is! The fact is it just is not going to make a difference, this is not a very stressed or impacted part of the gun, it's kind of like worrying about wheather or not the cigarette lighter handle in your car is forged or cast. I wonder if anyone can show us a failed cast lower form a good manufacturer that would not have failed if it had been forged. I think the only difference would be if you were selling it to someone who though it made a difference. Let the flames fly, I am ducking. |

pete is also out. so is sable co. fac wholsale has in stock but don't know anything about them. as far as forged vs cast- all else being equal forged is stronger than cast.i've had alot of cast items break (bow risers for example) but never a forged one. but you are right i'll probably never know the difference. but i would rather have forged -just personal preference. |

FAC carries Armscorp which I believe is in Maryland. From what I understand there are only actually three manufacturers of forged lower receivers: Olympic Arms, Lewis Machine and tool and Continental Machine and tool. Lewis makes Bushies, Armscorp and some others. Continental makes Armalite, Colt and RRA. Both manufacturer lowers for the FED and from what I hear either one will put any name on the lower if you buy enough quantity. I would assume that the delay is because of the war. I have built weapons on Bushies, RRA, and I owned a few armalites. All are Quality pieces. The RRA seem like they have more material machined and in the rear of the lower and it would be easier to put in an auto sear. Not that it is important but if armageddon comes, it would be nice to know that it is easier to prepare. I have never seen a DPMS forged lower but I happen to have a relative who works in an Army armory and builds AR's on the side. He has always said not to buy anything from DPMS. He claims that the takedown pin holes don't always line up correctly and that they are a pain to assemble. Anyway, my opinion is that most forged lowers are all comparable but it is just an opinion. |

Because we sold 200+ in the last week and just ran out yesterday. In fact, my wife just stopped selling them. We've got enough on hand to cover all outstanding orders. It takes a couple days to get a new banner ad...We'll get it replaced soon. Oh, and by the way....Standby for what we're going to do next! Quoted: Quoted: The first place I would try would be www.quanticoarms.com Out for 60 days?? Then why the hell do I have to keep looking at their ad on the page header?? Wierd[:D] |

fac carries dpms, olympic, and hesse. i have had several dpms uppers and lowers never aproblem. only problem i've had is with a rra lower being to tight. as far as quantico being out i would say thats a good thing for them isn't it? obviously selling a good product. and the lady was actually nice on the phone. no disrespect meant if it was taken that way |
