Why not just get the complete LPK & toss the grip? I would imagine that a LPK w/o the grip would not be very much of a savings if that is your reasoning.

I didn't use the grip that came with my kit either, but I figured that if I ever need a backup I will have it. I also kind of see it as a start to my parts collection.

Yeah, just get the LPK and toss or save the grip.  There won't be any savings without the grip. There's just no demand for the stock A2 grips so dealers wont break LPK sets up for that (can hardly give an A2 grip away).

There are few suppliers that piece together LPKs with modified/neutered surplus parts that don't include a grip (Sarco comes to mind), but these usually are not as nice or smooth as factory LPKs.

Before you know, you'll have a pile of leftovers too.

Those grips make good candidates for stippling and other custom work. I seen some nice ones done, actually comfortable. Nice collection you have going there AKARS.

Just last night I priced the parts I needed vs. a complete LPK.  The kits run a little less than $60.00 but to buy the parts I need (no grip, no mag release, no buffer plunger and related small parts) came out to $90.00!  It sure is wasteful but what in our culture isn't?  Kind of like a happy meal.  Cheaper to throw the extra fries away than just buy a small.

I wish I had read this post 2 weeks ago. I just pieced out an LPK with out the trigger or grip. By the time I paid shipping on everything I'd have been better off buying the kit.
Some of the little parts were back ordered & I had to wait.  Plus I forgot a trigger guard and a little spring.  So had to place ANOTHER order.
Live and learn I guess.

Anybody want 30 or so grips?

You can find many standard LPK issue grips in the EE for $2 to $10 apiece. I often wonder about the guys that are asking $10 each for te grips....<><....:)

no, just keep the grips, its not worth it to purchase the LPK parts individually

RB Precision.  I assume they still do business here, but it has been a long time since I saw their ads.

They were making LPKs with or without parts in them for people at one point.

I think Essential Arms has LPKs with grip for 65, without for 60.  However, I last bought 3 DPMS kits shipped for 55 each.
