O.K. I bought one of the m16a1 kits that are on the market today. Does anyone know of a place to assemble and park the barrel for me? thanks for any help you can give me.

ACDO can do it.  I think its $90 to pin a FSB though.

I think Henderson Defense is offering to do it if you buy the kit from them.

Postal0311's right.  Adco page says $90 to pin the FSB and $50 for the parkerizing.

I've been thinking about buying one of these kits.  But if I did, I think I'd find a good to new old stock M16A1 barrel and put that on it.

It looks like SARCO has them for $265. Here is the thread discussing them:

There is a link to Sarco in the first post.

I got one of those kits, but already have a few A1 barrels laying around. I haven't decided what to do with the one that came with the kit. Ideas?

You could cut the kit barrel down to 13" for an Israeli Build.  Some of the Israeli CARs used cut down original 603 barrels so the contour would be the same. I measured and 13" happens to be the distance to the gas port. I have been considering this.
