i have handle the thumbscrews and they are solid

the arms i own has the quickrelease lever which is a pain to open/loosen

the larue i have not handled but own other larue products and im sure that this would be the best way to go if you want a quickrelease lever

The throw lever is reccessed so it can be difficult to get at in a hurry, you have to pull it out a little to fully grasp it. I haven't tried to do it in pitch darkness but I'd imagine it would be a challenge.  The reccess is built in to the light so I don't know if a LaRue mount would wholly address it.

There's really not a thing wrong with the thumbscrews. It may in fact be the most secure as well. It uses two fastners as opposed to the single fastners on either throw lever.
