Glcoktalk, here is the real scoop IMHO> I shoot all 20's at the range. They are the right length for my bag when I rest the rifle. I have a number of 30's but falling back to training I load 28. None of us will every be in a firefight in CONUS. At least we can prey. Stick with quality 20 or 30's and enjoy yourself. BTW buy a loader. You will thank me. Lula is the best. |
Every time I read about someone worrying about when shit might hit the fan, I have a little chuckle. And good magazines will function with 30 rounds loaded into them. They are made to function with 30 in them. Anyway, after you go "condition 1" you have 29 in the mag. Isn't that good enough for ya? |
HMMM, I seem to always have 30 in my mag in condition 1, but then that is cause I always put a fresh magazine in once I strip one into the chamber. I too only load 28 in my issued USGI mags as I have had too many issues with them seating on a closed bolt. I now carry Pmags only and I always put 30 in my PMAGS and have never had an issue with them seating on a closed bolt. |

I have 31 ready to go in my AR. I have 5 rounds loose from a old box I used up of M855 that I have loose for my ARs so I can just load fill it to the top. Hey I might need that one round. I do not have 3 round burst anymore so I do not have to worry did I load 30 for 10 pulls of burst or 27 for 9 pulls of burst. Or 18 for 6 pulls of Burst. |
