you could BIY, and purchase a barrel with mid-length port, get the gas tube and handguards from the EE or vendor here.

We need to make a thread listing exactly which days are dedicated to which noob questions and tack it.
Then we could just link all the answers there as well for the search-impaired...

The only one I remember is thursday always being M4 ramp day.

For what it's worth, das028, we're not picking on you! I just derailed your thread since your question was answered.

But a good AR15.com 101 tacked thread could stop a lot of redundancy of questions.

Dont worry guys, I really do know how you guys feel. I have freind that bug me about pistols all the time. Kinda like a broken record, I get it. Thanks for the replies though, without some wisdom from you guys, I sure would be lost!
