20" varminter kit from J&T and add in a 2 stage trigger. I think that would fit the definition of semi-target build. Add in some glass. I think two stage trigger will way later update. Thank you for the thought! I actually havent even thought about. Quoted:
Next, don't mount the bipod backwards and keep up forward. Oh ok! Thats how brownells put it, but I probably wouldnt know it till I actually buy one :) |

putting a stress point on your barrel will defeat the purpose of the 'free float' handguard.

the bipod should be mounted to the free float tube/rail ok i can see why. so it doesnt add preasure/bend on the barrel. is that right? correct thank you. i didnt think about it but it make sence. |

http://i54.tinypic.com/71hhkn.jpg Here you go, on the T 20" varmint kit––-(5% leo/mil discount and shotgun news sales ad) $535 Lower––––Somewhere around $90 out the door RRA 2 stage trigger––-about $70 Walmart Harris bipod knockoff––-$40 Nitrex (weaver) 2-10x40––-(On clearance sale with $100 rebate) $199 My semi target build, $935 (actually a little over $800 b/c I already had the trigger) That is awesome! Great looking rifles! That is what I want mine to look like! Is it a2 stock on it? I have a1 stock that I will use for time being, but then would like to get a fancy one some time later. thank you for sharing a picture! What gas block do you have on it? |

Well I ordered a complete kit at that price from J&T so it included the lower parts kit and stock assembly. I added a bipod stud on the free float. There is another uupgrade option for the low profile gas block, I just got the standard option. If you already have your complete lower then you just need the upper assembly which would be less $$$.
You can also get similar kits/uppers from Palmetto, Model 1, M&A. Plus you have Daniel defense, bravo company, spikes, White Oak and many more if you want something considered to be a little more top tier. However the first 3 plus J&T have good reputations around and I have ordered from all 4 over the years. Might want to just do a little research on the barrel you want on your build. My J&T is 556 chamber, 1:8 twist made by Double Star Corporation. The Palmetto on the right is a stainless 223 wylde chamber 1:8 made by Wilson but I think Palmetto gets their barrels from Wilson and FN. The 223 wylde chamber would be a better choice for a target rifle, not sure if it was an option when I ordered from J&T. |
