The PK uppers look like they suffer from having a 4150 upper receiver with permanent carry handle; a flattop carbon-15 receiver seems like it would save substantial weight.
But then again, all the Bushy carbon-15 uppers I can find online give you no choice whatsoever as to barrel profile, handguards, or gas block. Are their uppers available stand-alone anywhere? It seems like weight savings could be had with each of those items (barrel, handguards, etc...), adding up to substantial overall weight loss. I guess that would defeat the purpose of op's request for a complete upper, though. Looks to me like no one offers the lightest possible complete upper! ETA: oh yeah, found the standalone uppers. Still, the point is that no one offers a complete upper package that is as light as it could possibly get. |
