I have an opportunity to purchase a RRA early post ban M4 upper with a non functional flashhider. I have heard that these are nearly impossible to replace can anyone tell me if I should stay away from this.  I am in Florida which is one of the most liberal when it comes to gun laws, but on this one I am not sure.

Link won't work.

What is the concern on being able to replace it?  FL is fine for having pre/non ban items, so I wouldn't see that as an issue.  Heck, you could have it shortened fo 14.7" and pin/weld an A2 flash hider to it, or 14.5" with an extended FH and still be fine, although the cheapest, simplest, best option would be to just stick with a $8 A2 hider and install it with a crush washer.

Adco was doing the removal and threading thing for them. I had one done but it was not cheap. I only did it because I had bought the barrel during the ban. If I remember right the barrel may be splined under the fake hider and they had to out a cover pices on part of it even after threading.

It used to be on there site. It was the threading cost and a fee for covering up the splined part of the barrel past the threads. I had to call for the price but do not remember what the total wss.
