hey guys, my first post.... and ofcourse, it's to ask a question. This question will probably sound very stupid to many of you, but for some reason I just don't get it.
I have looked on here all over the place and found ALOT of very usefull information. I am working on my first ever AR-15 build and everything so far has gone great. I'm using an Anvil Arms lower and am looking for a buffer tube complete kit so I can finish the assembly of it. Eventually I want to ge the Magpul MOE BUTTSTOCK, seen here: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=26706/Product/AR_15_M16_MOE_trade__BUTTSTOCK So I'm looking at buffer kits and see there are MANY different sizes and styles. Commercial, Mil-Spec, A1, A2, etc..... What am I looking for? I realize my lower is Mil-Spec, so I think I got that part down. If I were to order this kit: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=49080/pid=23135/sku/M4_Adjustable_Buttstock would that work later with the Magpul stock? Thanks guys for any help. I am very anxtious to get this build done and any help is greatly appreciated! |

not sure if the double star stock you are looking at is a milspec tube or not.
bravo co. has kits in stock. just got one on saturday. it's good stuff, and it's less expensive than the one you are looking at. LINK |

Yes that will work, but you will need the commercial version of the MOE when you do buy it.
I would suggest that if you are buying stuff new, get better items. For the MOE you have two choices, mil-spec and commercial. Mil-spec is preferred. You can get a top quality mil spec kit for about the same price as the commercial one you are looking at. When you decide to get the MOE (or any other adjustable type stock) get the mil-spec model. BCM Stock Kit ETA: He beat me to it, but we are on the same page. The Doublestar is commercial. It doesn't list it in the description, but in the user questions it was ask and answered by Brownell's CS. |
