I'm building my first AR. I bought a spikes lower at the Orlando gunshow yesterday and I want to buy a MOE or CTR stock and buffer.  Does it matter if I get milspec or civilian?  Also I see the ctr is a little more than the moe (looking at the stock kits on palmetto state armory)  Is there a distinct advantage over the more expensive one?  Or is there another kit that's cheaper (for the sake of my marriage) that's just as good, if not better? Thanks!
BTW, I purchased a lower parts kit with the 2 stage rra trigger kit for $129––seemed like a great deal––have read the rra trigger is a poor man's upgrade....

I have two RRA 2 stage triggers and I love them both.  The CTR has a locking mechanism to lock the stock down and make sure it has no rattle at all, IMO go with the MOE.  There are a ton of cool stocks on the market, the trick is finding one in your price range.  And the MOE is a fantastic bargain.  I personally would look into the Vltor IMOD, I prefer it over my CTR.  There is a diameter difference from the commercial size to the mil spec size, you would never be able to tell though.  Mil spec is more exact and typically has a better fit.

the vltor looks nice––the IMod is offered in the “Standard” configuration and “Clubfoot” configuration––what's the difference?  couldn't see any
EDIT––I see the difference now
