Mobil 5w30.
I first saw Afghan soldiers use motor oil on their AKs and then it dawned on me that motor oil is used for high heat, high friction environments.... my rifle is that. I waited until I was back in the states to try it and I've run 5w30 on all my rifles and handguns (with some Mobil 1 synthetic grease for the M1 and a few others) since then with awesome results. Screw paying $30 for 4oz of fancy crap, I pay $7/quart. Smart. |

FIREClean. I've used most everything else and prefer it to the other products. Quoted:

I don't use Breakfree CLP because I have a mix of other products that work better (because they each fill a specific purpose) but if I was restricted to only one product it would be Breakfree CLP without a doubt.
There is a reason the military uses it. It does everything well enough and simplifies logistics as well as training. |
