what would be a good set up for me?  i'd like to have a 1X for home defense and short range shooting and also have more magnification for a little longer range shooting.  should i get a holographic with a magifier or something else?  any advice is appreciated.

Lol, seriously? I have to say it again? Get the Trijicon TR21 or atleast check it out. Perfect mag/rds substitute as it uses a BAC reticle you can aim w/ both eyes open. makes for the best all around scope I've found for the money.

If you only plan on shooting people then get the EOTech with a Magnifier... Need pinpoint accuracy at 100yds + then get the TR21 in a Larue SPR-E mount or other forward mount

thanks, sweet setup.  would a fixed front sight get annoying with that?

Don't know, all my guns have folding BUIS.

might get annoying with any setup but it won't hinder. Stay w/ a fixed front buis if you can as the flip ups tend to have a little play which can effect long range accuracy a great deal. Yes, I am running dual flips
