I currently only have a T1 and would like to try a variable scope. I'm looking at it with the mindset of cry once buy once attitude
I've kind of narrowed my choices down to the following three, but open to looking at similar products, Weight is important, but glass and durability trumps. It will mount on top of a DDm4v11 mil spec + Z6l 1-6x24 K16i 1-6x24 Mark 6 1-6x20 |

I can speak about the Leupold Mark6 1-6.
I owned it for a little over a year and ran it in several run and gun events along with casual trips to the shooting range. It was definatly a quality optic and I never really had any issues with it. It was 100% reliable and never lost zero on me. Pros: I really like the FFP reticle. I had the TMR and I found it to be well put togeather and easy to use at all magnifications. I also liked the locking feature on the turrets. They were easy to adjust if I wanted to make a change and they always clicked back in at the zero point when I set them back. Finally, the glass was very clear. It was exactly what you would expect for an optic in that price range. Cons: I really did not like how the illumination on the optic worked. I never ran into issues with it not being bright enough or failing to function. However, the illumination nearly disapears if you move your head off to the side a bit. I also found that for me it was something that I couldn't just turn on and leave on. If I was shooting close targets or shooting on the move I wanted to be able to keep the optic on 1 and the illumination turned on (as if running it like a red dot). However, with the shooting that I was doing I would need to quickly move from targets at 25 yards to targets at 200+ yards and always found myself wanting to turn the illumination off. For me, it ended up just being something that I constently had to mess with and I eventually stopped using it. The only other thing that I didn't like was that I couldn't get a set of aluminium lens covers for it. I know this is a stupied thing to have as a con but it was really the only other con. I ended up selling the optic because I decided I want to go in a different direction with that rifle. That being said, I would still recommend it to a friend. It did a great job and is a very good optic. These are just my experiences with the optic. Hope this helps! |
