I took my Vortex FS off of my Colt and put on a Phantom instead because the Vortex was getting hung up on things. Is it necessary to put blue loctite on the threads like they say? I have it pretty tight but not too tight because I didn't really have anything to measure the torque. Another question, do the flat sides of the suppressor base (where you put wrench) need to be vertical like it comes from the factory. I realize it may look better that way but I'm having trouble doing it.
If you dont use a little lock tite it will wind itself loose as far as the flat sides lining up with a phantom it wont you have another quater turn left so they dont line up straight so what I did was use an extra layer from a peel washer and its canted oposite so that the bottom slots are angled left to right and solid on top so the slots are like a star I did this so ther would be no open slot directly with the ground when firing prone the flat sides only line up vertical when using the A2 compensator.
I think I see what you are talking about, thanks. Also, anyone ever had a problem with their armorer's wrench being out of spec? The 3/4" slot used for FS's is too small and it fits none of my suppressors. Guess I could try and grind it to make the slot bigger but I shouldn't have to.
