it is my understanding the the m16a1 for the canadian army had a brass deflector???? if that is true can someobe post pics please im debateing that fora future build..

Did the Canadians use another version of the M16 befire the C7 or did they go straight from the FAL to the C7? I have run into a couple of Canadians over here in Afghanistan and checked out their new versionof the C7, it doesnt do anything for me. Cant get into having an M4 stock with a 20 inch barrel. But I do like the ELCANs.

To the best of my knowledge the shift was just from the C1 (FN FAL 50.00) to the C7 (Colt 715).

That's cool, that's the first pic I've seen of the left side...Maple leaf and all...
SO, a C7 is just an A2 w/o the 300-800m rear sight?

Not to my knowledge from the Colt factory. The case deflector hump came along with the other A2 upgrades, including the furniture.
