Not recommended, overall, for chrome lined anything.

I was surprised the first time that I visited a gunsmith while he was chambering a barrel.  He used the following method to polish the chamber after finishing with the chamber reamer.  Before you call foul, he's a world class BR rifle builder here in VA!

CM and stainless can be done.  Usually, I've seen it done with 600 grit wrapped around a worn chamber MOP (NOT brush) and lubricated with light oil.  Put it on the end of a section of cleaning rod, chuck into a drill, and let 'er rip.

The key is to POLISH, not reshape the chamber.

The oil will lubricate the paper, keep it clean, and make the paper cut real well.  Go slowly and carefully.  Use a bore light to examine the chamber.  Usually only a light pass will work wonders.

I've also had great luck putting Flitz metal polish on a new bore mop and doing the same thing to polish out a rough factory chamber in bolt guns.

USE EXTREME CAUTION.  DO NOT TOUCH THE SHOULDER OF THE CHAMBER.

All chrome lined chambers are polished before they are shipped.

Yeah, I think after barrels are chromed lined the chambers are then polished.

Hmm this has me wondering if some work I had done caused a problem for me.. I had my AR painted with the menthol paint that is self lubricating the paint is inside  and outside maybe this changed the dimension of the chamber causing a extraction problem?
