PowerTac came highly recommended but like you I'd never heard of them. I bought one E5 from Tactical LED's & liked it so well that I bought a second one.
The factory clip is spring steel & very strong but I prefer the McGizmo Titanium clip so I drilled & tapped one light: 
Pretty much identical to a 2-cell E-series but with a ton more light output. Low/Medium/High are very useful. Extra High (700 lumens) is a battery sucker so I don't use that level. The UI is set from the front located push button & the tail cap is a forward clicky. Light is set up for either 2xCR123 or 1x18650 and is large enough that the newest Panasonic protected 3400 mAh cells fit without any problem. Only gripe is the lanyard that uses a thin cord to attach to the tail. Cord lasted two weeks on mine & I then installed a small split ring & a 550 cord lanyard. FWIW both owners of Tactical LED's are former LEO & use what they sell. Nice people to deal with & great customer service. |
