A little googling between here, the hide, and TOS for the .223 75 grain stuff seems to show that velocity is a bit lower than comparable heavy bullet loads. Accuracy reports seem variable from "like M193" to "not match, but decent" around 1MOA from ARs. The general consensus seems to be that the .223 load is pretty good for the price.
I'm going to buy a few boxes of that and some SSA 77 grain, just in case I actually make it to the range before the snow melts next spring. It's got to be cheaper to practice with that and my AR than the tiny amount FGMM or Black Hills match ammo I have for the .308. |

My carbine (1 in 9) loves the Prvi .223 Rem 55gr JSP. It also does very well with the PPU M193 & M855 stuff.
My rifle (1 in 7) is only so-so with the Prvi .223 Rem 75gr JHP. This Sunday, I plan on checking out the M193 & M855 in the rifle to see how well it groups. I have put close to 4k of various PPU/Prvi through both ARs and have had very few failures, and what failures I did have were my fault (dirty firearms, marginal magazines, etc.). Its good ammo and I don't hesitate to buy it when the price is right. |

I just shot 50rds of PPU 145gr M80 from my M&P10 today. All went bang and no issues at all. Brand new rifle, never been fired before today.
It was the cleanest stuff I've ever seen, I know it was only fifty rounds, but the gun barely looks like it needs to be wiped down. At 50yds, I would guess it was shooting about 2-3 moa from a sand bag,..and guarantee that was mostly my fault more than the ammo. Never shot .308 before, but felt sporty. No problems cycling at all. |
