I have a stripped lower that i am going to put together, and it is my first build.  It is still stripped but i thought i would try to put a mag(C-products SS) into the magwell.  And it wouldnt go in without a LOT of effort.  I think my lower may be out of spec.  But i dont know enough about ARs to know for sure.  Should a mag slide in easy on a stripped lower?  Maybe imnotdoinitright?

The mags should slip out with gravity. If you could get your hands on 1 or 2 extra mags and try them, that should give you an idea as to wether it's the mag well or the mag itself. I have 4 20rnd p-mags that 2 of which don't drop free in one of my lowers. They all drop free out of my other one.

You may also be able to call a gun store and see if they have some extra mags for you to give a try without obligation to buy them. It's worth a shot.

I tried to see if they would drop free, and it does.  It drops free without a problem.  Its just that putting them in takes forever.  Seems like i have to line it up perfectly and wiggle it until it goes up.  Took me about 30 secs.  It is possible that i dont know how to put a mag in.  So, is there something i dont know about inserting a mag?
