| just saw a psa complete lower w/ magpul ctr for 199. is this a good deal? i'm debating piecing an AR together vs. buying off the shelf. Thinking complete components as i've never assembled one before. |

Not bad as long as it's not a cheap LPK. I debated it too but I wanted the stock for a rifle I already built and the lower for another pistol build. I wonder if you can have them ship with the stock not on the lower? You can remove the stock yourself in under 5 seconds. |

I can do that with any of my lowers that have stocks on them but I can't make them a pistol lower. |

It is still transferred as OTHER. You just take the stock off before you attach an upper greater than 16'' A lower is considered "other" until it is complete as either a rifle, firearm, or a pistol. To be considered a rifle, it must have a barrel > 16'' + a stock. To be a pistol, it must have an OAL of under 26'' and no stock. A firearm is > 26'' OAL. Pistols and firearms can be converted to a rifle and back if it begins as a pistol, but if it is first built as a rifle, that is the configuration it needs to keep. |

I can't say that doesn't make perfect sense. Thanks for the correction Synyster06Gates.
