I've decided to come in out of the cold and be tactically cool like some of you guys.  I want a quad rail that replaces the handguards, something simple because I just want to put a light on the gun, at least for now.
What does arfcom recommend for a simple rail?  What light should I put on the rail, 20,000 candlepower seems like enough to me, thats all my full size streamlight is.

There are a few different 2 piece handguards that require no more work than putting on handguards.  I've got the YHM 2 piece, but there are a few others in the same general price range.

+1 What Stickman said.

If all you need is a simple/cheap light and grip mount, get one of the metal two-piece designs and you'll be in good shape.  I would stay away from the plastic Fobus types, as they are almost as much as metal ones- but their still plastic.  I got a pair of the FOBUS M33 guards for $40 when they first came out, and still had to redneck-engineer a weaver scope mount on the side for a light.

If what your going to spend is up in the $300+ range, I would go with one of the free-float types over a non free-floater, but only in that $300+ range.
