| I know that this question has been beaten to death here but.. I just purchased a stripped Spikes lower directly from them and had it transfered to me thru my ffl. He wrote other on the 4473 and when he called it in he clearly said other. So am I good to go on building a pistol from this lower? I am not trying to start anything just looking for an answer. |
From what I have read, Spike's won't give you the required "pistol letter" saying it has never been a rifle. I assume that's because they sell pistol-marked lowers? 
Anyway, it's not that simple as just buying any old lower and making a pistol from it. I will probably build a pistol with it too. I have a 7" DPMS barrel from Spikes with the gas tube already pinned in the cut down sight base that I did myself. I have a Levang compensator on it but want to go to a longer barrel. If you're looking for a 7" and want to buy one with less than 50 rounds through it let me know. A pistol is a lot of fun at the range. |
