when assembling the buffer tube and retainer, how do you do this. i have studied the assembly guide here, but don't understand how the retainer "snaps" into place. is there supposed to be a hole in the buffer tube? i don't have my lower yet, but do have my a2 stock, so it may be very self explanitory then. until then, can anyone explain this more and maybe show some pic's? thanks

If I'm understanding your question, you want to how how the buffer retainer is held in place?

The only thing actually holding the buffer detent/spring in place is the edge of the buffer tube/extension over the shoulder of the detent.  The lower will arrive to you pre-drilled [;)] the detent/spring are inserted in the hole, the buffer tube is screwed in, push the detent/spring down, and the edge of the buffer tube passes over the shoulder of the detent and holds the detent/spring in place.  It's actually much easier to do than I've just described...
