I just bought a omega X 12.0 FSP.  I am going to have to have the perm. attached brake on my bushy 14.5" m4 upper removed to install this rail, correct?

If its a one piece floating rail then yes.

If its a two piece rail system then I believe all you have to do is compress the delta ring, take the guards off, and replace with the rails.

Someone more knowledgeable will be able to confirm.

yes it is free floating.  Uses the same barrel nut as the DD Lite rails i believe.  Shit, my impulse buying due to the great price i found on the rail is going to end up costing me alot more.

Yeah. Why not get the regular Omega? You could have left it on there.

Oh.....

Since the OmegaX mounts up like the Lite, yes you will need to FH removed. Check out the Build it yourself section for a DIY tutorial if you're comfortable doing it yourself and/or too impatient to send it off to ADCO.

well to be honest i saw the rail for 180.00 and jumped on it before doing my research.  i thought installation was similar to the regular Omega rail.   I guess i learned a lesson here.  Dont buy stuff while in class.

Haha. I've done the same thing. It happens. Put it for sale on the EE and start looking for a regular Omega.

You may even find someone willing to trade you for a standard Omega since so many jumped on the $180 deal BCM had going not long ago. It's worth a shot.

Yes it is two pieces that are fastened together after you sandqwich the barrel between them. Basically the same as the plastic handguards, but screws will hold the two together.

Right, the difference between the two is that the omega x uses the lite rail nut and the omega uses the standard barrel nut.
