ok i am new and i am stupid.......now i have that out of the way, i am looking for a rail system for my new armalite m4 carbine and need some help. my ar has a 16" barrel an i thought that was a carbine but i bought a set of rails from the exchange forum for a carbine and they are to short so to keep me from having to sleep with my ar and not my wife i need t know what size i need to look for i would like to have the 4 rail system that just replaces my original forarms. thanks for your patience and my wifes pocketbook thanks you to

sounds like midlegnth size you have..I have a surefire M73..ther nice and solid and not to expensive.$200 will get you a set in carbine,mid or full size and they are rock solid.If not using optics on the rails YHM has a drop in railed handuard,2 piece that drops in like regular handguards.While tight I think a set of bolt down handguards are the best.In any event YHM 2 pice gaurds can be had in the $150 or little less range.
