anyone use the carry handle mount such as what the Cmore uses, "L" shaped that attaches to carry handle, and sets the sight in front of the carry handle?

i've seen the mounts sold without sights to use with other brands...

for my first one, still trying to figure out what config to buid, A3 or A2.

CDNN is carrying these sight/mount combos for a fairly cheap price in the last Shotgun News i have.

was wondering about pros/cons...cowitness the sights a big deal or not? I realize everyone has differing preferences, so any and all feedback appreciated

I think cowitnessing is important, and I like having my red-dot near the same plane as the irons to take advanage of the flat 5.56 trajectory.

Since I use a Trijicon Reflex my 'gooseneck' is specific to that sight.  Probably the best 'general' gooseneck is the ARMS#39; it works very well with the Aimpoints.  A good 'inexpensive' gooseneck would be the Aimpoint gooseneck mount.  However, if you want to use it with other sights you may need to cut another goove in the rail (instructions for doing this are available on MD-AR15.com)

BTW there is a review on the cheap Leapers copy of the ARMS#39 here: http://www.americansforguncontrol.com/leaper/ it looks fine for plinking applications.

I went with the co-witness route. the setup I have uses a c.r.t.c. mount, altho I plan on replacing it with a arms in the near future. The extra bucks are worth it, as my current mount is very flimsy. My sight is a Leupold "Gilmore" Love it.

I don't like to have to change the way I mount my rifle when I want to use iron sights. Just like to keep it simple... fullclip
