| its a perfectly straight line going from top left to bottom right and everything under/left is red. the red takes up about 1/3rd of the tube with the dot in the middle, and if i move my head up/right its gets larger. it shows up more against dark backgrounds. sometimes i cant see it at all but if i try i can find it. anyone else have this? |

Yep, its on ALL the Aimpoints to a degree.
Generally I found that it happened when I had a bright light source behind me (like the sun) reflecting off the tube or something. Aimpoints work by reflecting only red light back, so the LED gets reflected back at almost 100%. Now light goes through the front normally, but any light getting in through the BACK of the scope, will have the red spectrum reflected back. This is one reason why I usually prefer to have my Aimpoints a little closer to my eye rather than forward. The brightness shouldn't have anything to do with it actually, but as I found, its light leaking in through the back side. If you look at brighter targets its usually gone. Totally normal in any case, if its causing you problems, then you may want to look at seeing if different positioning of the scope helps at all. |

| has anyone else noticed this? im pretty sure it cant be on all of them, or at least not as bad as mine or i would hear more about it. its a big enough deal to make me stick with my eotech over an aimpoint. im gonna give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, because i dont think it should be this bad. |

Its probably only 90-95%, and the diode has to be WAY brighter for the dot to be as visible as an Aimpoints. Hence why Aimpoints have 50,000 hour battery life and most clones or other RDS's run 500-1000 hours or less. I never found the reflection in my old ML3 to be so distracting, I could see it in some light conditions, but it wasn't that big a deal for me. Could you try and get some pics posted up? if its really bad you can give AImpoint a call (and possibly provide them with pics) and see if its worse than usual. They ALL do it to some degree. Just looking through my T1 Micro at my dark wooden door, (opposite to computer screen) I can see the red plane in it, but If concentrate on the door knob I cant even really notice it. It will definitely show up more if you are trying to look for it or concentrating on it. If you are getting it really bad, you can try what I did and move the sight back a few slots and see if that helps a bit. Your head should act like a big shade for it. My advice is to go out and shoot it at a range or something, concentrate on the target and see how distracting it really is. I have never found it to be a problem when at the range (even with the sun setting behind me) when moving around and shooting and stuff. The only time I ever notice it is at home just messing around with it |
