I want to do a M16A1 retro/clone build. I am looking for info on where to get the upper from. I would like to get a Colt upper with everything on it. Or if it is possible I would like to get a whole upper kit that has the grips, stock and pistol grip included. I am looking for the upper without the forward assist. Also is there any info I need to know about the barrels on the old military Colt uppers? Can they be found is good to very good condition? I already picked the lower. |

| You will be hard pressed to find a "kit" with what you wanting. M16/604 (without the FA) receivers are not real abundant with barrels attached. You will probably have to find the upper receiver by itself and then the barrel. It would be easier to find a barreled M16A1 upper (with FA) ,check the EE and gunbroker, and use the barrel and sell the A1 receiver or keep it for the next one you build. NoDak Spud has the M16/604 upper receiver you're seeking. Pistol grips and buttstocks can be found in the EE or gunbroker as well. |
