i bought my first AR its a standard A2 flat top20 in barrel 1-9 twist  i have a d-squair mount i have a nikon buckmaster 4.5 x14 with nikoplex on a 300 mag that i put on it to shoot do i use this scoop or get somthing else ill mostly target shoot at the range and a praire dog or two i need to eather buy a new scope for this or the 300 mag  my price range is around 300.00 my eyes are getting bad so i dont wont to shoot open sights then there is the mill dot and the new AR type scopes i dont know where to start

Look into the Nikon M223 or Mark AR. Either will serve you well, and on a budget no less. I prefer the Nikon, it "feels" like it has a wider FOV than the Leupold variant.

I'd avoid and BDC reticle scopes, they can be a PITA. I like mil-dots, and duplex reticles. Duplex reticles are generally thick and dark, great for hunting in low light.

I always go for less scope power if there is another model scope that has better clarity. Clarity/Resolution/Brightness matter most to me.

If your using a 20 inch barrel, that Nikon with the BDC turret it comes with will match your rifle pretty damn well.
