ive got 2 flattops with scopes,, im thinking about cutting the front sight down cause im still getting a blur in the scope.
anybody tried this with the sight still on the barrel???
i really dont want to try to change to lo-pro gas blocks, just looking for an easy solution. and i dont want to raise the scope up

Sure, it can be done.  Just be careful not to leave any "stupid" marks.  I covered the adjacent areas with that blue painter tape.  Rattle can flat black will leave looking OK.

I've done this with a Hack Saw and a Bench Grinder. Take your time and be cautious. Birchwood Casey makes a flat black paint pen that's great for touch up when your done shaping and smoothing.
