my son and I are working on a build and have encountered a problem. Assembly went fine but during the test firing the weapon would fire after charging but the next round was loaded, hammer cocked but would not fire unless the selector was rotated to safe and back to fire. the next round would do the exact same, no firing until selector rotated to safe and then to fire.
Thanks for any help |

Quoted: Is there a positive "click" when changing the selector position? If not, that's probably the problem and you'll remedy it with new spring/detent/selector. If you do have a positive click when going from safe to fire to safe, then you've got another problem and without a pic, I'm clueless. I will have to test fire again not sure now if selector is wandering off the fire position some where in between fire and safe. I should of paid closer attention to detail. The spring and detent should create enough pressure to hold the selector in position. The selector should be within the proper tolerance to allow this to happen. |

This issue I have heard/seen before although not EXACTLY how you describe.
My buddies was failing to reset trigger like you describe on a newly built rifle and all we did was lube up the FCG real good and do some function drills with it, it then cleared up. Another answer i have heard is that the disconnect spring is installed upside down causing some similar failure to reset issues. I have not heard of the safety selector being switched resetting the trigger but I have never heard of anyone trying it either. Recap: lube FCG and work lube into parts or check disco spring |
