[ARCHIVED THREAD] - serial number

I just recently purchased a colt sporter lightweight .223 and the serial number is 007031. i was wondering if i could get any of you to give me an approximate year in which this was made? thanks a lot

i just can't find the prefix SL for a serial number anywhere, but thank you anyway your help is greatly appreciated. could anybody tell me the difference between a "blue" label and a "green" label also

Sounds like a pre-ban from your info.

My blue label has a sear block pinned in the lower, half circle bolt carrier and the upper has a removeable flash hider and no bayo lug. Lower is marked Sporter HBAR.

My Green label has NO sear block, full circle bolt carrier, removable flash hider, bayo lug and is marked AR15-A2.
