Yep, on a disc and on my computer. Along with pictures and details of each one.

Yes you should. If it gets stolen and you don't have a serial number you are completely screwed from every getting it back because it cannot be entered in your state system nor NCIC. If it gets stolen and you can enter a serial number it doesn't mean you will get it back , most likely you never will but at least there is a chance they could run across it someday.

Ideally, treat them the same as high value objects for personal property insurance.

Serial numbers, Make/Model, identifying marks, estimated replacement value, and a photo.

Keep these where you would not have them burn down, flood, or be stolen.

I take pics of each side and a close up with the serial # visible in photo.
This allows you to give Officer's the serial to track stolen weapons, and gives you the info in visual form for your insurance agent.

By the way, I'm sure most of you know this but homeowners insurance limits $$ for firearms due to theft.

In most cases a tricked out AR will pop the limit. Talk to your agent and get some cheap insurance to protect your collection JMHO.

I keep a copy and more importantly my insurance agent keeps a copy. It was required for my firearms rider on my Homeowners policy.

Yes you most definitly SHOULD. How bad would it suck if your guns were stolen, and later one of the dirtbags was caught with your rifle and wasn't arrested because no one could tell it was stolen?
