| Hey guys new to the form. I have a couple AR's but finally built my first. I have a Anderson lower, Anderson LPK, Anderson upper receiver, SAA BCG, rock Creek A2 buffer and stock. No matter what I do I keep having a short stroke problem, two different gun smiths have looked and both came up with different things they thought was wrong. Both did what they thought was wrong and no chanfe. I have swapped out two different uppers, two different bolts( SAA with standard finish and one with a Nicholboron coating) I have tried a commercial collapsible buffer tube, new charging handle, new gas rings in the bolt, I have tried different ammo, and different mags. The only thing I have not changed was the muzzle brake( dpms jerry), gas block, gas tube, and barrel. Am I missing something? I have tried to break it in by treating it like a bolt action, extra lube, no lube. Please help. |

Two smiths and neither could get it to run correctly, Time to find new smiths.
All it should take is a one over make sure that the chamber/bolt is head spacing correctly, a once over on the gas system to check for leaks/blockages, action binding, and then this leave you with either the rig under or over gassed. Since it running a A-2 stock, easy enough to either add in a carrier weight to see if the rifle if over gassed, and if not, then that leaves you with the barrel gas port not correct instead. |
