looking for input on short range optics. i am building my first m-4 and will use it for quick reflexive firing at targets mostly within 100M. i would like the optic to be able to be accurate at targets at least 200-250M though. 9all ranges at human sized targets) i don't want to break the bank buying an optic though but i want something durable and that doesn't look like crap. if some people could just drop a few websites and or optics that they recommend i would be grateful. don't have much time between work and school to browse online much. thanks.

Aimpoint, take a look in the EE for a good deal.

The best "budget" sight on the market right now is the "red-dot only" version of the Vortex Strikefire, or it's slightly more expensive (but well worth it) cousin, the SPARC. Both are backed by a lifetime unlimited warranty, and Vortex Optics is known to be one of the best optics companies in the game.

If you're looking to spend a little more, a used Aimpoint **with good mount** or a used Eotech. Both are fantastic sights and have their own strengths. I personally run an Eotech 516 on my AR, but I'd be just as happy with am Aimpoint most likely.
