I am frequently experiencing short strokes with my 16" ar15. The fired case is extracted, but no new round fed. Should I lubricate the buffer tube in a certain way? Thanks

Might help.
More likely, it's your gas rings, bad gas seal at the FSB, or a loose gas key.
